What are the processes?

1. Candidates must speak with their headteacher to seek their support for the process. A Professional Tutor is agreed.
2. The candidate submits an initial expression of interest form to the AO Lead at CVPA SCITT.
3. If CVPA SCITT agree that the criteria have been met, the candidate and supporting school will be invited to submit a formal application. If this application is approved, a date will be arranged for interview.
4. The CVPA SCITT AO Lead and supporting school Headteacher/ Professional Tutor interview the candidate at the school. The interview will consist of: a one hour lesson observation and follow up discussion, competency tests in English and Maths and a formal interview during which candidates will have the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to meet the Teachers’ Standards. Documentation and ID will be checked.
5. If the professional tutor and AO Lead agree that the candidate is suitable, a start date and time frame will be set. The AO route must be completed within 12 weeks of the agreed start date.
